A press conference was held on March 5th at Technology HUB to present the results of past generations of The Bridge Accelerator and announce the call to apply for the next generation.

“Here in Ciudad Juárez and in the region, there are 40 billion dollars of inputs that are integrated into this region and only less than 2% are from regional or local suppliers, so we have a great opportunity and we have allies and we are excited to work on this program, ”explained Ricardo Mora, CEO of Technology HUB.

The Bridge Accelerator is a binational program that expands the participation of local companies in the supply chain of large manufacturers and maquiladoras. This way, the industry becomes more efficient by having its suppliers in the same area and this generates economic growth for the entire region.


“When we came to El Paso, with TechSpark, our mission was to promote greater economic opportunity and job creation for communities like ours. We knew our work would be incomplete if we only did this work in El Paso, ”said Jonathan Childress, Microsoft TechSpark Community Engagement Manager for El Paso.

Microsoft is one of the strongest sponsors of the program because they saw the potential to achieve their goal through The Bridge Accelerator. With three successful generations, the program has met expectations and hopes to exceed them with subsequent generations. In total, it has created 254 new jobs; $ 11.27 million USD in sales; $ 530,000 USD in pending equity investments; and $ 540,000 in realized investment.

"The program prepares companies so that they are at the level, so that they can be ready to participate in those early stages, in certification issues, in having a clear value proposition and its approach," said Rodolfo Vázquez, Undersecretary of Innovation and Economic Development, who stressed the importance of knowing the future plans of large companies to prepare and promote local MSMEs.

Companies participating in the program must complete 10 modules to graduate, which strengthen their operations and business focus. During the program, companies participate in an event called Demo Day, where they exhibit their company in a pitch and meet with executives of large companies to explore business opportunities.

"The Bridge Accelerator is an initiative that aligns perfectly with CODER's objectives and one of them is to seek the development of economic capacities in the region," said Dagoberto Cedillos, President of the Juárez Regional Economic Development Council, who assured his support with the initiatives of the Center for Innovation and Integration of Advanced Technologies and the Center for Artificial Intelligence to promote and support MSMEs from an early stage.
