Fundación Axcel Fab Lab Edu is a program created by Fundación Axcel, mainly focused to inspire teenagers at high risk of dropout of school. After a long research trying to find the reasons why students don’t continue their studies, there was found a lack of interest not only from the students but also the lack of support from their families.
Technology has always been inspiring and in this case is no exception, that is why Fundación Axcel introduced 112 students from middle school to extracurricular workshop/trainings in: Electronics, Robotics, Programming and Digital Fabrication; with the main goal to boost their self confidence by helping them develop decision making skills and creating a sense of belonging.
This yearlong program means more than the promoting of the development of technical knowledge and skills for the XXI century. For these students at high risk of dropout is the motivation and reinforce of their self esteem to face the future challenges and continuing their education to high school and beyond.
