The first industrial revolution in the second half of the XVIII century started with discontent from the population; the second one in 1879 too, with mass production. The third, starting the new century, was less violent and it was all about computers and automation. Are you ready for the fourth?

Social discontent in each industrial revolution, in part, is resistance to change. “If I’ve been doing the same thing this way for years, why would I do it any other way?”

In the past, massive communication and education was more complicated to achieve. Today you can take courses on almost any topic with an internet connection and maybe pay a minimum quantity. Nonetheless, the problem is about the trending topics in technology are not so common or cheap online.

The fourth industrial revolution is characterized, among other things, by the use of advanced technology, like robotics, artificial intelligence and cloud computing. The collaborators that are almost put of the labor force, don’t feel like they have to learn about it, but it’s knowledge that next generations need.

It’s important that the youth of Ciudad Juarez and all the country develop these abilities and get inspired to be prepared for the future, because we must be technology developers and not just consumers. For this reason, it’s necessary to find and detonate talent in Mexico.

The organizations that see the tsunami getting closer, are educating and preparing the youth in these topics with workshops and programs. This way they’ll have a better future and the country will be ready for the challenge that the 4th industrial revolution represents.

Code Labs is an initiative of Technology HUB and Microsoft. The program includes topics of robotics, technology and 3D design. It’s mainly for the children of the collaborators, because it’s necessary that they receive the benefits as well as their parents.

The methodology is to learn, imagine, design, create and share. So, the children learn playing and develop their abilities of critical thinking, analysis, communication, leadership and teamwork.

For the youth is something attractive and wakes up in them their interest in the main topics of the 4th industrial revolution, because they can create their own robot and experience a real competition. That’s how they show their acquired knowledge during the program.
