1- El Paso and Juarez come together creating the largest “Borderplex”

Let´s start with the definition of “complex” which means “consisting of many different and connected parts” we are two “Border” cities with different nationalities, cultures and languages, but somehow we find a way to put aside all our differences and connect our cites to become a bordeplex. Through the years the relationship between the two cities has grown fonder of each other due to the closeness. If you don’t live close to the border, the idea of traveling to another country can come as surreal, but for the border people is something so normal as to cross the bridge more than once per day.


2- The Border Culture

“Keep an open mind” is our mantra, the culture shock is an every day issue. The differences between the two countries are really obvious, but instead of taking these differences as a weakness, we try to respect both cultures and come together stronger than ever.


3- “Bilingual”

Code switching is our middle name not for nothing the term “Spanglish” exists. Switching from one language to the other is really common in the border region. Is this reason why we are the largest bilingual work force from North America.


4- Industrial Region

This area can be know by being the Sun City, we are sunny at least 98% of the year. Also we are surrounded by mountains, which give us the most beautiful sunsets, besides that, we are an industrial city. Juarez is well know by their excellent manufacture, that why is the home of more than 340 manufacturing industries and also their prime logistical location makes the exportation of goods easier.


As you can see the border has a lot to offer but there several economic opportunities that our region has not fully capitalized. The Manufacturing Supply Chain of our region is worth 39 billion dollars in inputs each year, yet only 2% of the inputs used in production processes come from suppliers of this region.


This is the reason why Technology HUB and The Hub of Human Innovation two bi-national business incubators and accelerators, got together to develop a brand new program called “The Bridge Acceleration”. This program works specifically to boost and accelerate the SMEs of the region, increasing the local input by connecting them to the multi billion dollar regional manufacturing supply chain.
